A big problem for students at the University of Michigan is handling the transaction of buying and selling textbooks. Students typically try to go about solving this problems by blindly posting a multitude of requests on various Facebook pages that quickly get buried by other posts within minutes.

Blue Exchange provides a simple and elegant solution to this problem. It is linked to the University of Michigan Course system API. Users can simply go into the select the class/sport for which they wish to buy/sell textbooks for. They can then specify the amount of money they would like to spend on the textbook or the cost they plan on selling the textbook for. Then, the user can create posts or find posts that already exist and contact the buyer/seller. The user can then reach out to their matches and arrange an exchange.

The app allows users to select the classes using pickers hence simplifying the process of matching users as well as reducing the amount of information the user needs to type in.

In our latest update we also added support for reviews. This means that you can post reviews for any class. This can be really beneficial as it can help future students determine course loads, ratings and read comments about the different classes offered.

Our first priority was information security. That is why we hide your email address and phone number from other users until they actually wish to contact you. You also have the option of not allowing your phone number to be available to other users for any ticket or textbook you wish to post an offer for. And for reviews you also have the option of remaining anonymous.
